Saturday 16 February 2013: Nigel Fossey, Vice Principal at The British School of Beijing, Shunyi, and Amelie Azeem, Deputy Headteacher for Learning and Teaching at The British School of Beijing, Shunyi led a workshop today entitled “From Reform to New Form” at the annual Council of British International Schools (COBIS) Conference held at The British School of Paris.
The workshop focussed on the learning journey at The British School of Beijing, Shunyi; transforming teaching and learning using new technology and harnessing students’ creativity. The workshop began with a brief presentation on 21st century skills which was followed by an interactive session where practical solutions to the issue of embedding 21st century skills were discussed.
There was also a discussion about High Performance Learning, a model for nurturing giftedness and creativity in school and how such a programme can constitute a completely new approach to learning.
The workshop was well attended by school leaders and educational consultants.
