We are delighted to have been asked by the Hong Kong Education Bureau to open a new international school in Lam Tin in September 2014.

Following an extensive tender process, the Hong Kong Education Bureau has awarded us a 660 place school in Kowloon. Occupying the site of a former local school, the new international school will open in September 2014 following a comprehensive renovation of the existing premises. Drawing on over forty years’ experience, we will create a world class school that serves primary and lower secondary students from years 1 to 8 and follows the National Curriculum of England.

Conceptualised to be a part of the thriving Hong Kong educational community, the new Nord Anglia Education school will also be a ‘Teaching School’, offering practical professional development to more than 250 local teachers annually.

Andrew Fitzmaurice, CEO said: “We are thrilled to receive such an endorsement from the Hong Kong Education Bureau. We recognise how important Hong Kong is as an education hub and our organisation’s central office relocated here 18 months ago.

When we moved here in 2011, we planned to open a number of new schools across Asia and hoped to set up a school in Hong Kong itself. We are delighted to be joining the Hong Kong education community and to be able to provide a Nord Anglia Education school for the students here.”

We currently have a family of 14 premium schools with more than 2,000 staff teaching over 10,000 students across Asia, the Middle East and Europe. We are expert at delivering English style education using the National Curriculum of England and Wales and the IB Diploma. Our schools have universally high standards with one in four graduating students going on to study at the world’s top 30 universities.

Professor Deborah Eyre, Education Director of Nord Anglia Education said: “We are very proud of the educational standards that we achieve in our schools, especially since we do not select students by ability. We look forward to adding a Hong Kong school to our family of schools and making sure that the students who attend it have the best possible educational start in life.”
