The Dance Programme at Summer Performing Arts provides dancers the opportunity to expand their technique and creativity in a supportive and inspiring atmosphere.
By sharing and collaborating with other young artists from around the globe, the dance students will expand their creative range, become stronger performers, and develop new and lasting connections and friendships.
Working with the Juilliard faculty consisting of professional dancers, choreographers and alumni, the dance students at Summer Performing Arts will have a daily schedule consisting of a morning warm up/stretch class, followed by two technique classes (ballet and contemporary dance).
In the afternoon, dancers will rehearse original, site-specific dances, and will have opportunities to study improvisation, dance composition and jazz and tap dance.
Specific skills and abilities to be developed include:

- Alignment and Balance
- Spatial Awareness
- Musicality and Rhythmic clarity
- Improvisation Skills
- Performance Skills and Artistry
- Choreographic Craft
- Familiarization with and retention of new movement styles
There are both faculty and student performances as part of the two-week intensive programme.
On Tuesday July 12, the Juilliard Artist Faculty will perform a exciting program showcasing their talent in a diverse range of repertoire. The student performance, aimed at showcasing all the students have learnt throughout the two weeks, will be on Friday 21 July.
- 1st performance : 15H00-17H00
- Dinner : 17H15-18H00
- 2nd performance : 18H30-20H00
