Helen Baker

Year 5 Teacher

Helen Baker completed a BA Hons degree in Recreation Management at Sheffield Hallam University, then a PGCE from Southampton. She taught for 3 years at a small rural primary village school before moving to a large junior school with over 600 pupils aged 7-11. She was a class teacher for 13 years teaching Year 3 to Year 6. She was also PE coordinator for 5 years, a rewarding position which saw pupil participation in sport grow. In 2010 she and her family relocated to Switzerland and she joined La Côte International School. She has been the Global Campus Lead Teacher since 2012. She is passionate about Global Campus dedicating time and energy to it. A keen sports person she played ladies rugby finishing her career on the wing for Harlequin Ladies. She is an avid skier and loves the outdoor life that Switzerland has to offer. Helen embraces the opportunities for children to be risk takers in their work whilst working collaboratively and respectfully with their peers.
