Lynda Thompson

DP Coordinator and Head of Mathematics

Lynda Thompson joined La Côte International School in 2014 where she is the Head of Mathematics and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme co-ordinator. 

She attended the University of St Andrews in Scotland before gaining her teaching qualification in Canterbury, UK. Her varied career spans both UK and international schools in primary and secondary phases, with experience of the IB and UK curriculum, including involvement with initial teacher training and staff development and appraisal. 

Her interests include increasing motivation through active student engagement, curriculum development, in-context learning, service education, the role of culture in learning, and conceptions and pre-conceptions of mathematics learners. She is currently working towards her MA in International Education at the University of Bath. 

As an IB Diploma Programme holder herself, she understands the rewards and challenges of the programme and enjoys supporting students to achieve their best.
