After two months of rehearsals, 71 proud Key Stage 2 children presented “Robin and the Sherwood Hoodies” on 9th and 10th March. The story wove through the lives of characters that we should recognise, such as Robin Hood, Maid Marion, King John and the Merry Men such as Friar Tuck. However, to the audience’s surprise, the characters in this version of the story are a bit different – Robin Hood is an acting troupe director, King John acts like a spoiled child, and Friar Tuck is a magician, to name just a few!
Everyone practised the songs and choreography over and over until the songs were stuck in in their heads, and they loved every minute of it. The main characters learned a lot of funny puns and enjoyed diving into their character on stage. For many of the actors, it was their first time in a play, so they had a lot to learn, especially that practice makes perfect!
The audiences thoroughly enjoyed the performances. We want to thank everyone who made this production a success.
