Toys for Tots

We have embarked on a major project in conjunction with the Nord Anglia Global Classroom to fundraise 20,000 euros for the Children’s University Teaching Hospital Kramare to enable us to install a therapeutic play room in the Orthopaedic Ward.

As part of our project to improve opportunities for play in the hospital we are fortunate to have received the support of the US Marine Corps at the American Embassy. Every year around the world Marines organise collections of new toys to be donated to worthwhile causes. This collection is known as Toys4Tots.

The Marines based in Bratislava have generously agreed to support our Kramare project this year by donating all toys to the hospital, and we are delighted to be collecting with them. Today at assembly we launched the Toys 4Tots Appeal and explained to children what we hope to be able to achieve. All toys which are donated, both to the Marine Corps and direct to the School, will be given to the Children’s Hospital and will either be placed in the ward play rooms or given to children who are facing spending the holiday season in hospital.

If you feel that this collection is something you and your family would like to support we would be delighted to receive your donations. All donated toys should be:

· New toys which do not require batteries

· No small parts which are choking hazards for young children

· No cuddly or fluffy toys

The closing date for donations is Wednesday 17th December. Toys can be given to your child’s teacher.
