The Water Challenge was run by Nord Anglia Education in partnership with both Imperial College London and the NGO Practical Action.

Schools were judged on team work and collaboration, scientific research, design and experimentation and the quality of the final written Lab Report and video submissions. Our final submission film, written and directed entirely by IB student Veronika Rollova, was described as ‘fantastic’ by Nord Anglia Education and singled out for particular praise by the Imperial College judge, PhD student Stephanie Walton, who called it ‘brilliant’.

In addition, Julie Brown, Education Manager at Practical Action, described it as ‘heart-warming’ to see so many of our students ‘working passionately to find solutions to real problems faced by people living in the developing world.’ She also praised our students’ perseverance in experimenting with multiple solutions, and their persistence when these did not work out. She was impressed by their open-mindedness, the fact that they were so pro-active in their own learning, and the high level of collaboration between students of different ages.

We're sure you will join us in feeling proud of what our students have achieved.

You will be able to read more about the Water Challenge at our school in the forthcoming issue of the Global Classroom newsletter.
