Geography: bringing learning to life in our local surroundings

Our students explain why they like Geography
  • Geography class - learning about Slovakia
  • Geography class - learning about Slovakia
  • Geography class - learning about Slovakia
  • Geography class - learning about Slovakia

I like learning about Bratislava, and Slovakia in general, because I find it quite interesting. Besides it is easier to apply our own general knowledge of the area when we are working on it. I like it very much.

Zhayra Garcia Escalona, Yr 10

I like learning Geography because it is interesting and educational for me. It gives me a lot of opportunity to learn about Slovkia, and by learning about the local environment I can immediately apply the theories.

YuRa Dong, Yr 10

I love Geography. When I realise my next lesson is Geography my mood always goes up. We learn about our environment so it’s fun. Finally, I can also learn about the world I live in. When we learn about my local area, it is easier and more motivating.

Mario Hoffman, Yr 10

I really like learning about our local environment because I already know lots of place names and cities. Therefore it is easier for me to remember the key terms and how to apply theory to my work, without having to crowd my head with irrelevant place names and cities etc.

Melissa Radoja, Yr 10

I like learning about Slovakia because I get to know something about my own country.

Almina Yildiz, Yr 10

Learning about the country in which you live helps you understand more easily, and then you can apply the theory to real-life examples which you know about.

Emma Barbier, Yr 10

It is interesting for us to find out more about our local environment because we can explore it in different ways.

Sasha Kuznetsova, Yr 10

We can learn about Bratislava I can remember it better because I live in the city. It also means I can learn something about Bratislava that I didn’t know before.

Soreun Yoon, Yr 10

I like learning about Bratislava because it is easier, since it is the area in which I live.

Cherin Sur, Yr 10
