"At the beginning of the IB Diploma Programme, we started CAS by going to Polana and doing activities such as clearing forest paths and visiting the local orphanage. Then individually, I participated in a range of activities including helping organize the school's TEDx, running a school debate club and participating in MUNs. During the CAS afternoons I had the opportunity to learn things I never though I would such as ballroom dancing. Overall, I really enjoyed the CAS experience, especially the diversity of Creativity, Action and Service!"
Mina Cho, Year 13
"During my first year of IB, CAS has been one of the things I've enjoyed the most. The school has given us a lot of opportunities to do a wide range of activities to do for CAS from our first service trip as a year group at the start of IB1 to Polana to helping at a Slovak private Kindergarten. Those are experiences that stay with you forever. CAS has helped me to get to know me better as a person and to prove myself than even in the more challenging times, when I think I cant do it anymore or I'm stuck... My hard work and my determination will keep pushing me through. The fun thing about CAS is that you are not alone you can always work with friends, which makes it even more fun. CAS is teaching me something that will stay with me forever"
Maria Velazquez Castela, Year 12
"What would IB be without CAS? To me, it is a significant part of the programme. It helps us, young adults, learn what the important things in life are and how we can improve ourselves. Creativity helps us think "outside the box" and develops our senses for creative thinking. Action makes us active. It is healthy to be engaged in a sport in any possible way and here we have the opportunity to be active as much as we want in many different ways. And last but not least, service gives us the opportunity to help others, both those in need and those who are not. CAS is a great starting point in life. Life is a challenge and so is CAS. Once we grow as human beings, we will become and later on raise a better society."
Kristina Salmanova, Year 12
"I have been teaching dance and also doing a choreorgaphy for TEDx. It has been a very good experience for me in terms of teaching, discipline and understanding the way of thinking of the others. In my opinion, the diversity of CAS activities makes us, IB students, more open-minded and understanding towards the world around us."
