  • Year 6 adventure camp
  • A group of Year 6 at the adventure camp

Year 6 only arrived back last week from their 5 day long adventure camp to Hochkar in Austria. This is the first time that the Year 6 residential had been to Hochkar, and all were desperate to experience the many activities offered on the mountain and in the surrounding area. The week was absolutely amazing; stunning scenery, terrific weather, exhilarating challenges, delicious food and incredible hospitality. Both the children and staff had a wonderful time .

Over the course of the camp, we watched as the children mastered  the ‘High Ropes’ course, climbed and abseiled rock faces,  rafted the tricky white water of the Salza river and hiked across mountain ridges. The trip was run with the aim of developing many of the personal skills that the children will need in later life; teamwork, resilience, determination. There was a definite feeling, as we sat on the coach going home, that our mission had been accomplished.
