Year 12 Science Fair Trip

On Friday September 25th Year 12 students visited the annual science fair in the centre of Bratislava. The aim of the trip was not simple. It was not only to see some latest outcomes of scientific research and their application in industry and every day life, but also look at the scientific method and its reliability.

If you asked our secondary students how we acquire knowledge in science, many would state with confidence that we do it through scientific method and they would be able to talk through it. Not many students, however, realize that the scientific knowledge is not an unchangeable and very often it is just the closest possible interpretation of the evidence available.

This trip was an opportunity for students to review how they have perceived scientific knowledge and scientific method and how they should perceive it in the future.
