NCSS Challenge

The Challenge is a programming competition for secondary school students. It’s been running in Australia for the last 9 years, and this year it’s open to everyone.
The Challenge is unlike any other programming competition. It’ll teach you how to program as we go along, rather than expecting you to be an expert already. If you’re a seasoned coder, we have something for you too – the problems range from relatively simple to mind-bendingly hard.

The NCSS Challenge teaches students to code in Python 3.4. Python is an easy to learn scripting language used for many different purposes such as web applications and scientific research. Companies like Google, Facebook and Reddit all use Python in their infrastructure and web services.
Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates have all said that students should learn how to code. It’s a skill that not only teaches you how to work with computers, but also teaches you how to think about solving problems with systems.
Programming (also known as coding) is how sites like Facebook and apps like Instagram are made. Knowing how to program is like having a computing super power.
This Year 4 students from The British International School in Bratislava has joined the beginners and the Intermediate level of the NCSS Code.Comp 2015 challenge and with an excellent results. Peter Novak from Year 10 has finished on the joint first place in Beginners stream for year 10-11 students. Yu Wang from Year 11 has completed the Intermediate stream for year 10-11 and finished on the 5th place competing with hundreds (if not thousands) of students from all around the world.
Congratulations for your fantastic achievement! You have made us all proud. If Oscars were given for a job well done, I'd nominate you!
