As mentioned in the end of year letter (which is uploaded on our website) we are implementing a new security system to ensure the safety and well-being of the children in our care.
Putting safety in the first place the following new procedures will be implemented: each parent will be issued a yellow card badge which should be produced to provide easy identification for access into the School; all other visitors to the School will be recorded and expected to wear a visitor badge; entrances will be supervised by our security staff.
All parents are encouraged to come forward and get to know the Main Class Teacher in Primary and Personal Tutor in Secondary who oversees your child’s progress. Please also take advantage of the regular parent drop ins and learning walks where you can spend time with the teachers and see learning taking place.
Parents who are interested in taking part in the activities of our Parent Association please let me know as we are trying to establish the new committee for the year ahead.
We have a new School caterer and the quality of the food that has been served to staff during the last week has been very good. I trust the same will be maintained for all of us throughout the year and please let us know if the standards are not high enough.
We also have prepared a new quiet area for parents and staff to use where refreshments are available. The space can be accessed from the Primary playground and the office corridor by Admissions.
English lessons for parents will start up again this term following the success of the classes last year. The classes continue free of charge at this time and if you are interested please contact Petra Bednarova at Petra.Bednarova@bisb.sk to sign you up. I look forward to a great year ahead.
