Paper recycling week

Eco news
Did you know that for every tonne of paper that you recycle, 17 trees are fell! A forest the size of Wales is needed to supply the paper used in the UK every single year! We are using up a lot of paper with the demand rising year on year. Not many people are aware of the impact that wasting paper has; the average household in America throws away 13,000 pieces of paper each year. Many people do not realise that there are many ways to reuse paper and recycle it into something useful or creative!

Over the week of 5th February the Eco Committee are going to be running the Paper Week to raise awareness about recycling paper and the uses it can give!
It will be an exciting week filled with fun activities such as quizzes, making cards from recycled paper for the Valentine’s Day, and much more. Perhaps that “special person” will receive a card from you made from recycled paper; or you may even contribute to making a school mural from origami hearts made from recycled paper celebrating this week! Paper is not just rubbish that should be wasted; it can be mostly reused and transformed into something creative, perhaps even made into a gift for someone!
So join us in our paper week and hope you will see the real value of recycling and get as excited about it as we are!
