Primary Maths Week

The first week of term was a busy one with the Primary Maths Week taking place.  The theme for the week was money, and the children participated in a number of activities that helped them develop their money sense.  The children learnt about saving money and why it is important, as well as the value of money.

We were lucky enough to have some parents to come in to talk about their jobs with the children.  The children found these talks really interesting and they generated lots of great questions.  It definitely sparked interest in future careers for the children.  Many thanks to Jason Khile, Eveline Molier, Theresa Laursen, Marketa Romankova, Zuzana Blahova and Hugh Owen for giving up their time to come and talk about their jobs.

During the week the children had to plan an Enterprise project with the aim of raising money for the Global Campus Make It Right Campaign which we are using to support Kramare Hospital.  Each year group came up with some wonderful ideas, and we will look forward to taking part in some classroom cinemas and pop up shops over the course of this term.

There was a wonderful buzz around school during the whole week and this was echoed in our lively assembly on Friday.  Many thanks to the Maths Committee for helping to organise such a wonderful Maths Week.
