Silver International Award trip to Puchberg am Schneberg vol. 1 and 2.

For the 9th year in a row, our school is running the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award. BIS Bratislava is the first institution in Bratislava who introduced this program and it is every year attracting your people to challenge themselves and push themselves beyond their limits.

  • Puchberg

This year we had our Bronze Practice expedition in Piestany area and last week we had our first Silver Practice expedition in Austria. Due the high demand and numbers of students interedted in the program, we will run a second expedition this week in the area of Puchberg am Schneeberg with 3 other groups of students. They underwent the appropriate training and have conscientiously planned their route, menu and equipment.

The last week's  trip was a great success, and the students presented themselves admirably for the most part. This expedition is certainly for risk takers and their IA skills improved during this Adventurous Journey. There was some great teamwork, fine navigation, and a positive spirit throughout the group as a whole and they should be proud of their achievements. I believe that this week's teams will also show their skills, their perseverance and a good teamwork all the way through the journey.

Many thanks to Mr. Hough, Mr Linley and Mr Tibbits for the support and enthusiasm during the first trip and also to Ms Pallova, Mr Wilcox and Mr Euell for volunteering to go out in the coming days to help to make this into another successful Adventurous Journey.  Having such a highly knowledgeable staff to support really enabled the students to learn a great deal and I am truly grateful for their commitment to helping run the IA.
