It is also fantastic that so many of the older students at our school wanted to complete this training as it shows that they are willing to give up their own time to help and support those students that are now going to be participating in the DofE. What a fantastic thing for them to be doing.
Barbara Medenica, one of the IB students who attended the training wrote:
"This training was definitely the experience that made me think more openly of approaching my peers as well as the younger participants of The Award.
Over this day, we discussed how could certain problems, faced during the experience of completion of the Award, be solved and what kind of approach is needed. There were many interconnections with psychology, philosophy, history, and the overall meaning of the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award. This experience has definitely brought a change to my viewpoint of the importance of this program, and I stand stronger than before- that The Award is something every teen should aspire to complete! "
Also a big thank you to Ms Romhanyi, our DofE Co-ordinator, for leading the training and giving everyone on the course so much knowledge and enthusiasm.
Therefore a big congratulations to the staff and students that completed this course and on gaining their leadership status. And I wish them good luck and great fun in being mentors to the DofE.
