This week has seen four of our Bronze D of E students out walking for the Expedition part of the Award. Two of them were out completing their assessment and two were out for their practice.

All students did extremely well. They worked hard in their groups to navigate and work their way through the routes around Piestany. Due to changed footpaths and more footpath markings than they were expecting some groups got slightly mislaid. However they used the skills that they have been taught and were able to find their way back to the campsite. At the campsite the students worked well together to cook their dinner on camping stoves and then set up camp. I was very impressed to see how well the groups worked together and helped each other out and gave each other support. This is what the spirt of the D of E is all about.

A big thanks goes to Ms Thatcher, Mr Linley, Mr Eastwood and Ms Romhanyi for organizing the trip, coming on it and and making it so successful for the students.
