Cross Country Run

Wednesday 10th May saw the children from the Primary School take part in the Annual Cross Country Run. Years 2 to 6 took part with some of us running as fast as we could around the track before realising that we had to run an extra 1000 metres around the local park. This wasn't a problem because all our energy and determination and perseverance pulled us through.

First to go were the Year 2 girls. Around the track they went, colourful children attired in their house tops. After that went the Year 2 boys with a bit more of a competitive edge to their stride which resulted in a few fallers. However, everyone was all right and everyone finished the race.

After that, the older children took to the track, all of whom raced well. Each race ended with excitement as the fastest runners sprinted to the finish line, cheered on by their roaring house team mates.

And the winners were? Everyone who ran. All those people who raced. Each person who didn't give up. Each one of those children who returned with a smile on their faces.

Thanks to all the children and a big thanks to the teachers who marshalled in the park and playgrounds.
