Y12 University Trip to the UK

Early on Monday 12th June we set off for London to visit 10 universities and attend the annual UCAS ( Universities and Colleges Admissions Service) conference, held in Birmingham.  We attended Uni tours, talks and Open Days at universities in London, Southampton and Warwick.  This was an incredibly valuable experience as it helped decide on, not only the course but also the type of establishment that suits the individual.

The UCAS conference, (uni's from all over the UK) was a great chance to talk with university staff, find out what life's really like on and off campus, and discover what else is on offer – from volunteer work and gap year adventures, to apprenticeships and career opportunities.

We also took advantage of the cultural side of London, the highlight was Shakespeare's "12th night" performed in the Globe Theatre and visiting historic Oxford.  Hopefully all returned home inspired and motivated about their future.
