Year 2A Class Teacher

After studying at Derby University to gain my BA (Hons) degree in Early Childhood Studies I worked for a year in a care home for teenagers with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Following on from this I decided to study for my PGCE at Manchester Metropolitan University.

After qualifying I worked in Staffordshire, England for four year before deciding to take a career break to explore New Zealand. During this time I volunteered in schools in the South Island, taking seven months to explore the beauty that the country had to offer.

After this, I worked at a British school in Cairo, Egypt for three years and then moved to a British school in Jakarta, Indonesia for two years. During this time I have explored many different countries. My aim is to achieve 50 countries before I turn 50. So far I have 43 so it looks as if I will achieve my goal early! I enjoy finding out about new cultures and communities and spending time in their natural surroundings, whether it be beach, hills or forests.

Because of this reason I decided that I wanted to work in Slovakia, a place that has many beautiful landscapes. I am excited to visit different areas of the country, as well as explore other bordering communities.
