Information Technology and Visual Arts Teacher & International Award Coordinator

I have studied and graduated with a Master’s degree from Civil engineering and Architecture at the Slovak University of Technology in 2002. I have joined the British International School in 2003 as a classroom assistant for year 2. After 2 years I have been promoted to a specialist teacher initially in the KS1 and KS2, later to KS3 and KS4. I have completed my PGCE course at the University of Sunderland.

Teaching for me is an adventure that I undertake with my students. I find it exciting to explore the creative possibilities that the technology offers along with all the ethical and personal issues that we have the opportunity to discuss. I enjoy challenging our students to think about themselves and their lives and see it in a bigger picture through running a rock band club, the International Award, Community Service projects, Science day etc.

What the students say about me:

"I think Ms Bea is very passionate about technology and this makes her a good teacher, she can be strict at times which makes you feel more challenged about education, she has skills, and she definitely teaches simply."

"Ms Bea is a great teacher, we learn more things than just writing on word and when we have questions she can always answer them."

"I think Ms Bea is a great teacher and can always teach effectively and cheerfully."

"I really enjoy lessons with Miss Bea as she always sets a very friendly mood in the classroom."
