I intended to go into industry straight after this, but instead set up a fashion company: Style Trap, with the help of a number of small business awards. Later, I completed a one year PGCE Teacher Training Course and worked in the UK and Africa teaching Textiles and Art. My family and I were attracted to Bratislava and the British International School because of the central European location and the warm, friendly atmosphere.
I am a designer and have worked for many years designing garments, from knitwear and men and women’s outerwear, to bridal wear and children’s wear. I also love textile work, especially heavily textured pieces, using unusual materials. My passion lies with throw-away materials such as tea bags, tetra packs and plastic bags. Recently, I have been working on making collections of handbags, by hand spinning plastic into yarn. I would love to create a sustainable business for underprivileged groups of peoples.
