I joined the British International School of Bratislava in August 2006, as Head of the Humanities faculty. This was my first overseas appointment. I chose the British International School Bratislava because I had enjoyed visiting many cities in Central Europe and wanted to experience a different life style.
I see myself very much as a teacher first and manager second. I do not wish to move too far away from the classroom professionally. My main hobbies revolve around reading and sports. I enjoy reading modern novels by writers such as McCarthy, Naipaul & Roth. I enjoy watching rugby and playing football and basketball. I used to run competitively but this is only recreational now.
Little known fact; I have never missed a penalty in a football match.
What the students say about me
He makes Economics my favourite IB subject; a combination of learning and fun is always there.
Great teacher, always pushing students to their best.
He has got a brilliant sense of humour.
He is a master of the ninja’s art
Egoistic economist in the best possible way
His powerpoints are brilliant ( he always matches his shirt to the powerpoint and then pretends to have disappeared) – great fun
I actually leave the classroom a tad richer than when I entered it – and this is actually true.
He always gives coherent explanations and really helpful advice
Gives loads of great feedback
