After completing my degree in English Studies at the University of Strathclyde, I taught English as a second language in Gdansk, Poland for a year. I returned to the UK to complete a PGCE at the University of Manchester and then I worked in a grammar school in the UK for 5 years before moving to the Channel Islands, where I was Head of English in an independent girls’ school for 10 years. In 2012 we decided to enter the international scene and I moved with my family to China take up the position of SENCO at Nord Anglia’s British International School Shanghai, Puxi. Having thoroughly enjoyed the 2 years spent in Shanghai, I am now delighted to return to Europe for the exciting role of Head of English at BISB.

I enjoy spending time travelling with my family. I have a daughter who is studying at University in London. I like being outdoors and I enjoy hiking and skiing so I think I’m really going to love Slovakia! I’m also a keen theatre-goer and I’m looking forward to seeing the ballets and operas Bratislava has to offer.

‘She’s kind and she always happy to help you if you don’t understand something’

‘You learn lots of new things in her lessons in a fun way’
