The main goal of ISRMUN is to promote education and diplomacy, therefore the Secretariat would like to move away from individual awards and focus on the achievements of entire schools. The awards system gives equal weight to schools of all sizes. ISRMUN has several types of awards.
The first award is the Preparation Award, which recognizes schools with students who come ready for each session and know the debate protocol. The second award is the Creative Thinking Award and this celebrates the schools with delegates who push the debate forward through in-depth analysis of the topic. The Leadership Award is given to schools whose students exhibited the ability to build consensus within their committees. Finally, the Overall Achievement by a School Award will be given to the school that excelled in all of the previously mentioned categories. Per each award, one school will receive the Award of Excellence, Award of Distinction and the Award of Merit.
In addition to the school awards, ISRMUN will recognize the achievements of students who participated as representatives and judges on the special committees. The award categories are Award of Excellence, Award of Distinction and the Award of Merit.
This year, ISRMUN will also be awarding a special recognition to the committee that exhibits the best examples of teamwork, collaboration, negotiation and critical thinking abilities in order to create a resolution paper and solve a crisis situation.
