The ISTA Gods and Monsters Festival Is Nearly Here! ISTA Festival to be held at Regents from the 8th to the 10th of May.

The International Schools Theatre Association Middle School Drama Festival takes place on the 8th to the 10th of May. Over 100 students from 8 international schools will be taking part in an exciting 3-day programme of workshops and performances which will explore the theme of Gods and Monsters.

Regents International School Pattaya is proud to be hosting this unforgettable event. The students will learn a host of theatre skills, make new friends, take risks and participate in workshops which open up new areas of knowledge in the spirit of Albert Einstein who wrote:

"Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning."

The weekend will be led by ISTA stalwarts Moira Arthur and Anthony Cunningham and some of the workshops on offer include:

·         Incantation! The Rhythm and Chants of the Gods with Chris Ash

·         The skills of playwriting with Chloe Keller

·         Storytelling with Physical Theatre with Marina Patel

·         There be Dragons! Improvisation with Chris Salisbury

Of course, many more events will take place, including workshops from our dedicated Regents' staff on mask making, percussion, set design and african theatre. There will be separate workshops from the ISTA artists for the visiting teachers and for the Year 10 IGCSE and IB students taking part.

Above all, ISTA means fun! As one student said of a past festival:

"Would I go again? Yes, please with sugar on top!"

Everyone is welcome to the final showcase performance at 3.30pm in the Globe Theatre.
