I often reflect on how lucky I am to have found a job that I love and feel so passionate about. School leadership, is not always an easy task, but you simply cannot beat belonging to a vibrant international school community.

Where else would you be able to take part in a wonderful celebration such as Loy Krathong (with outstanding support from our parent community), followed by dressing up as Cleopatra to take part in History week? Our music and drama students put on such emotional and thought-provoking performances this week as we mark Remembrance Day and were joined by many of our teachers – Regents certainly has talent in the performing arts.

I couldn’t be prouder of all our young athletes who have been so successful and represented us so well at FOBISIA, so many medals, personal achievements and memories to cherish. We have hosted a collaboration event between FOBISIA schools, showcasing Economics, Business and Management and  our own staff are leading sharing good practice sessions in the staffroom.

This week I have had some revealing discussions with parents, teachers and students about how we can transform teaching and learning through adopting a fresh approach to learning through emerging technologies. We have also had a pre-accreditation visit from Mr Mike Hewlett, Chief Inspector from the Education Development Trust, who has been visiting Regents since 2005 and has a huge amount of experience in evaluating the quality of international schools. He described his visit yesterday after meeting children, teachers and school leaders: “Regents is in a fabulous place, it is more together and united than ever before.”

I am constantly amazed by how articulate and discerning even our youngest students can be. What a diverse, exciting and inspiring community we have here at Regents. Something for us all to be very proud of. Encouraging our students to be ambitious in their learning and to believe their are no limits to what they can achieve is fundamental to our teaching and learning philosophy. Our purpose is to help guide all of our students here at Regents to find their passion, whatever that may be, to find out what inspires them, find that spark… so that they too can discover a job they love and never have to work a day in their life!
