The Business and Economics Department is very pleased to congratulate Surotama Banerjee on successfully gaining a placement in the Economics Summer Programme at Brown University in the United States.

Surotama will experience college-level academics on an Ivy League campus. Her programme is designed to reflect Brown University’s broad liberal arts curriculum and it attracts like-minded students, ambitious and driven in their educational pursuits.

This course will provide an intensive but exciting academic environment for Surotama to learn about International Economics and the demands of college life. Surotama will gain a good introduction to studying the complicated world of International Economics using real life examples and modern technology.

In this course, Surotama will analyze how individuals, firms and nations confront the central problem of scarcity, analysing the central theories of Economics in a global context. She will learn about and evaluate how decisions are made on both a micro (small) scale and a macro (big) scale.

We wish Surotama all the best as she tackles this challenging course over the summer and look forward to hearing about her experiences when she returns.
