Rachel holds a BA (joint honours) degree in French and German and a PGCE from the University of Nottingham (UK) and has over 25 years’ experience of teaching in the UK and internationally. Her career began at Trent College, an independent day and boarding school in Derbyshire, where she taught Modern Foreign Languages, became a Boarding Housemistress and coached Hockey. She then spent a number of years in Asia, teaching initially in Japan and then at the Alice Smith School, Malaysia, and travelling extensively in this beautiful and exciting part of the world. Rachel worked for 11 years at the British International School, Budapest, also part of the Nord Anglia Education group, working as IB Coordinator and Deputy Head of Secondary. As Assistant Head of Secondary and Head of Sixth Form at Regents, she enjoys playing a key role supporting students through this crucial and challenging stage of their education.
As a linguist, she loves to travel; from the Trans-Siberian railway and trekking in the Himalayas to the beaches of Bali or cultural city breaks. In her fitter days, she played a number of competitive sports; nowadays, she is more of a spectator but nonetheless enjoys walking, swimming and more sedentary activities such as reading, cinema and theatre.
