Netball Competition Kicks Off Year 9 Project Week Fundraising

This year during Project Week, Year 9 students will travel to Sanya to take part in action and service activities. This is the third consecutive year the students from NAIS Pudong will visit The Bright Connection in Sanya.  This centre caters for children with autism and cerebral palsy and our students have the opportunity to work directly with them during their visit.

The students in Year 9 are looking to raise 12,000RMB before departure and to kick off their efforts, just before the Mid Autumn holiday, 9B started off the fundraising journey with a mixed netball tournament for NAIS Pudong senior students. The tutor group divided themselves into key leadership groups and did a fantastic job organising the event. All students in 9B played a part on the day and consequently raised 801RMB. It was an extremely fun way start to fundraising and the competition. Year 9C hopped on board and sold refreshments on the day, also making a healthy profit to be added to the running total.

Next Monday 12th October, all of Year 9 will come together for the ‘Great Year 9 Bake Sale’; the bakers are producing nut-free delicious treats that will be sold to both primary and secondary students, so please have your money ready so as not to miss out!

Finally, 9A will finish off the week with a Mocktail experience, serving all combinations of fruity mixtures, to add funds to the Project Week fundraising.

All of the money raised goes directly to The Bright Connection and will support the day-to-day running of the centre as well as funding specialized equipment necessary for the centre.
