Year 13 Graduation 2015

Just hours after the final Year 13 IB examinations finished last Friday, the cohort of graduating students made their way to the historic Fairmont Peace Hotel on the Bund for their Graduation Dinner.

Resplendent in formal dinner attire, the students and their families enjoyed pre-dinner refreshments and had photos taken on the rooftop terrace, with sweeping views of the Huangpu River and Pudong providing a stunning backdrop.

To a rousing round of applause, the students paraded into the grand ballroom where they and their families were formally welcomed by Principal Lesley-Ann Wallace and Vice Principal Mark Wilson.

The evening was an opportunity for students and families to reflect on their time at BISS Pudong.  Over dinner, student speakers Matt Brown, Kelvin Xie, Nayanika Sukamar and Joelle Greutman spoke of the challenges of their IB study but ultimately its effect in helping them to become more globally-minded people. As they looked towards university and careers full of new adventures and opportunities, they reminisced on the importance of the friendships formed in their school years and their hopes for the future. They also thanked their parents for the endless support in helping reach this important milestone.

The formal part of the evening was the presentation of graduation certificates and alumni badges by Mrs Wallace, with IB Coordinator Mr Bevan Graham and Head of Senior School Mr Clem Parrish providing a biography of each student.

With the formalities completed, the students and family members took to the dance floor. A highlight was an impromptu “Footloose” performance led by Joelle Greutman and Matt Brown.

Congratulations to our Class of 2015!
