Flu Vaccinations

Our school will be conducting an on-site flu clinic on Tuesday 13th October 2015 with WorldPath Clinic.

If you are happy for your child to have their flu vaccination at this on-site flu clinic please return the flu registration form with a cash payment of RMB100 (one form and RMB100 per child) to Amber Zhang at the Uniform Shop by Friday 9th October 2015 to secure your child’s spot.

Please note that we need to pre-order the vaccines so we will not be able to accept any forms and payments after Friday 9th October.

Influenza is very contagious. It is, therefore, important that you take steps to prevent the spread of the flu. While good hand-washing practices can help, the flu vaccine remains your best defence against getting sick each year.

WorldPath Clinic uses the vaccine produced by Sanofi-Pasteur in France which is available in both pediatric and adult doses. The vaccine complies with the World Health Organization’s recommendations for the 2015/2016 flu season.

Early vaccination in October, when the vaccine becomes available, is advised. However, getting vaccinated in December, or even later, can still be beneficial since most influenza activity occurs in January or in the later winter months.

The flu shot is recommended for anyone aged 6 months old and above, especially those at higher risk of infection including those with chronic conditions, the elderly, healthcare workers, care-givers of those at high risk and those in close contacts with children younger than 6 months.

Please note that if your child has a severe egg allergy or an allergy to any vaccine component, they should not get the influenza vaccine.
