Message from Primary

Dear Parents,

In assembly yesterday I asked our students in Year 1 through to Year 6 to make a wish to the Christmas Elves to help us make our school look wonderful and Christmassy, in preparation for the Christmas Bazaar this Sunday. Well, what do you think happened?! This morning the children came in to find stars and sparkles throughout the whole of the Early Years and Primary as well as the much loved Christmas song ‘The twelve days of Christmas’ displayed across our display boards.

What the children may not have realised was that they also helped to create the displays. Take a closer look at the Pear Tree in Early Years and you will notice some wonderful artwork by Pre-Nursery. If you look closer at the Two Turtle Doves and Three French Hens you will see some very small handprints making the feathers and the trees from our Nursery and Reception children. Further up the school, you will spot snowflakes that have been made by our Junior students and used to decorate the display boards.

A big thank you to our very own Christmas Elves (the Early Years and Primary teachers) is most definitely deserved as they have been busy preparing these displays in secret for the last few weeks, and last night gave up their evening to make sure it was all in place ready for the children this morning. Not only that, but they also then used true team work and effort to decorate the trees in both the Early Years Foyer and B Block Foyer, the latter being a particular feat of ingenuity!

I would like to add an extra thank you to our Early Years teachers for hosting two wonderful mornings this week through our Pastries with Parents and Stay and Play events. On Thursday and Friday morning, parents had the opportunity to join their child for a tea, coffee or hot chocolate and a tasty pastry before then going into the classrooms to take part in our Early Years learning. I know the children were ever so proud to have their family members in their class, who joined in with class activities, making and creating. A big thank you to all the parents who joined us during these mornings. I hope you enjoyed them as much as we did.

This weekend, our teachers change role again and will be hosting a variety of Christmas Games to play at our Christmas Bazaar; it promises to be a fantastic event, so make sure you buy your games tokens and raffle tickets and join us on Sunday!

I look forward to seeing you there.

Lisa Passante

Head of Primary
