ACAMIS Invitational Rugby 7s Tournament and ACAMIS Netball Tournament @ NAIS Pudong

We participated in two days  of great sport at NAIS Pudong last weekend. In the Rugby 7s tournament we were fortunate to see some outstanding performances in all of the matches. The standard of play by all of the teams was at a high level, and the games were played great sportsmanship. I was especially impressed by the students' respect for the referees and fellow competitors. All of the participants did themselves and their schools proud.

The girls Netball tournament was a very close affair and we saw some outstanding  individual and team play. The players showed respect for each other and never challenged a referee's decision.

Stay tuned for a full ACAMIS tournament report in next week's newsletter.

NAIS Tigers U11 Football Tournament Report

Another great football tournament for NAIS Blue - this time the matches were played at Wellington College. We got off to a flying start against DCS Green- with a fantastic goal from Arthur! The next game was a similar, with a 2-0 victory against WCS - with goals from Arthur again and Arne. Our third and fourth matches were closely fought contests. The third match, against DCS Red, saw our the team fall 1-0. The fourth game ended in the same result, with a 1-0 loss against DCS Blue. The final game was a match dominated by NAIS Blue- our team worked hard for a 0-0 draw versus DCSW. The team gave an excellent account of themselves. The star play was our fantastic defender Conlan! We can't wait for the next match!

Tigers U9 Football Tournament Report

It was a fantastic day for football at last Saturday’s tournament. The resilence and perseverance shown by both our U9 and U11 teams was incredible to see. Whether in victory, defeat or draw;  each of the child proved they deserved to be part of this amazing cross-school event. As always, it was brilliant to have so many parents and family members coming out to support and cheer on our teams despite the cooler temperatures. It was a real pleasure to reward Yoshi Yamada with the prestigious Man of the Match trophy after his sterling effort as U9 D1 goalkeeper; keep it up for the tournament next weekend!

Looking forward to seeing you all next Saturday,

Mr Shackleton
