English
In English this week, the children will be developing their story-writing skills. They will begin by exploring and creating their own characters. The children will be given possible ideas for story settings. They will work towards creating their own story over the next two weeks that includes a clear beginning, middle and end.

The grammar areas that will be focused on will be: capital letters and full stops, exclamation marks, adjectives and conjunctions to join clauses.

Mathematics
In Mathematics, this week the children will solve one-step problems involving multiplication and division. They will be encouraged to calculate answers and use pictorial representations and arrays to demonstrate their understanding.

The children will continue to develop counting in multiples of three.

Topic
The Personal Goal we will be focusing on this week is 'Enquiry'.

As 'Artists' the children will create their own still life images of sculptures seen at the sculpture park. They will experiment with different mediums and textures to create their own sculptures.

Whilst on the trip, the children received a goodbye letter from the Snail and the Whale. They were given a riddle, giving clues about what their next IPC topic will be about. The children will explore the riddle in detail and use their enquiry skills to consider what this might be.
