Principal's Message - 26th May 2016

Friday evening saw the very first NAIS Pudong Cap and Gown Graduation Ceremony and it is fair to say that it was a very special occasion for all involved.

  • Graduation

Certainly, my moment of the evening was standing on the stage with the great honour of handing out the graduation scrolls, watching the faces of our graduates light up as Mr. Bevan Graham, Head of the IB Academy, shared some personal reflections on each and every student. We heard how individually they have excelled, but collectively they have soared to new heights, supporting and embracing each new challenge with a team spirit of collaboration. We look forward to celebrating their results in July. These are shaping up to be very impressive indeed. Final celebrations take place with the annual prom tomorrow evening hosted in the iconic Fairmont Peace Hotel on The Bund.

Of course, while our graduates celebrate, our remaining students continue to push themselves hard, with Year 11, continuing on their IGCSE journey, remaining calm under pressure, and the rest of Secondary carrying out end-of-year assessments, with great excitement experiencing core subject examinations the sports hall. Our Primary students will also start their SATs soon.

Today, we welcomed back our Juilliard supporting artist Andrea lee who spent time in Primary classrooms and engaging with our performing arts afterschool activities. Working with the Juilliard curriculum and with a professional teaching artist such as Andrea was an opportunity our Year 6 students certainly relished in their demonstration lesson. Andrea continues in school tomorrow and we look forward to more alumni visits before the end of the term.
