Year 3 Campout

Last Friday, some of our lucky students enjoyed NAIS Pudong’s first ever Year 3 campout! The rain that had been threatening to fall all day held off and we enjoyed some lovely sunny weather for the evening

The excitement began on Friday morning, when we began arriving at school carrying tents, sleeping bags and lots of midnight snacks! Our teachers were looking a bit daunted by the idea of having to put up all those tents until they hit on the genius idea of delegating the task to Mrs. Passante and Mr. Scrymgeor. When we arrived on the field after a day in school we were pleased to see our campsite was ready for us.

After settling into our tents and unpacking all our belongings, we played a great game of T-Ball on the field with Mr. Lang and Mr. Keenan. Luckily, we’ve been playing T-Ball in our PE lessons so we were all practically pros! When the games had finished, we enjoyed a lovely evening meal. The weather was so nice we sat outside and ate from the picnic benches – it was lovely.

Following this, we all got changed into our pyjamas and went inside to watch some movies. We were all so tired from the fun and games of the early evening, that our teachers said we should go to bed at 9pm and try and get some sleep. Little did they know we were just pretending to be tired and in fact we stayed up much later chatting and laughing in our tents with our friends! We eventually drifted off to sleep and the campsite was finally peaceful.

The next morning, we surprised our teachers with a 5am wakeup call! They were amazed we managed to get up so early. We packed up our tents, had a healthy breakfast and waited for our parents to come and collect us. It was a great evening and we all had a fantastic time.
