Principal's Message - 16th June 2016

As the end of the term draws near so finally does the end of the GCSE exams for our Year 11 students. I look forward to joining them for much deserved celebration on Friday evening.

  • Horrible Histories

This week we also observed a wonderful celebration of learning through the Junior School production of Horrible Histories; a huge congratulations to all our students who truly excelled with their knowledge, confidence and organisation, when every student took to the stage to play their role in this showcase of lessons from the past.

On Monday, I was very proud of our Primary Student Council who prepared a very heart-felt thank you celebration for our wonderful NAIS Pudong Community Group volunteers. The Community Group, led by Jody Dexter and Heike Springmann, do an amazing job organising our school events which are often the highlight of the year, and the memory makers for our our students. They also fundraise for the school charities and visit a local orphanage on behalf of our school, and the students put together a lovely programme which included song and dance, gymnastics and a very touching poem and song composed especially for this fantastic group of volunteer parents.

I would like to remind you that, next week, school finishes for the term at 12 noon on Friday. There will be an extended break period for students in Secondary to purchase snacks, and we suggest Primary children may wish to bring an additional morning snack to eat along with their school-provided fruit.

We return for the term ahead with our new and returning students for Orientation Day on Friday 19th August from 9am-12.30pm and all students start classes on the first day of school, Monday 22nd August. If you are returning late due to travel arrangements, please let us know in advance

I look forward to sharing news of our newly formed community group next week, a review of our final celebrations and, of course, some more key dates for the diary.
