Hosted by the PE Department, and with awards presented by Principal Mrs Wallace, these awards were for students who competed as part of our NAIS Pudong teams in rugby, netball, basketball, football, volleyball and swimming. Individual awards were given for Most Improved, School Spirit and Most Valuable Player.

The CISSA league is designed especially for young students to have a positive first experience with team sports. Director of Sport and CCAs, Mr Noel Wallace explains, “CISSA is an inclusive organisation which allows kids to be part of a competition, but the real aim is participation and developing skills in a caring and supportive environment.”

Introducing the teams, the coaches remarked on the great personal and team development our NAIS Pudong teams have seen over the year which bodes well for the future when the older students will move on to the more competitive SISAC league.

Also recognised at the awards were the NAIS Pudong Tiger Sharks squad members who have competed in the Shanghai Swimming League, as well as FOBISIA Phuket. Many school records have been broken this year by squad members.

There was an especially huge ovation for the two students named Sportswoman and Sportsman of the Year, Lovisa Lindquist and Thomas Wallace. Congratulations!
