Year 11 News - 17th June 2016

Very nearly there now…

As I write, there are only two more exams to go! The Year 11s have done admirably well during the exam period, keeping their motivation going, attending every exam on time and well-equipped and behaving impeccably. I have been really pleased with them and am delighted for them that this stressful time is nearly over. By the time you read this, they will doubtless be getting ready for the…

Year 11 Celebration Evening: 17th June

The Parents’ Committee and I have been overwhelmed with the response to this event, and I look forward to spending time with an impressive 150 people on Friday evening at Kathleen’s Waitan! The weather is forecast to be kind to us and I know that Jules Murphy, Linda Gill and Kim Duker, along with our Marketing and Administration teams, have been working tirelessly with the venue to ensure that everything is perfect on the night. It promises to be a wonderful evening and I can’t wait to see you there!

Return of School Resources

A polite reminder regarding the return of school resources (specifically textbooks, but also any other resources that students may have borrowed, such as memory sticks or SD cards). All of these resources need to be returned to the appropriate subject area. You have received a form via email which needs to be signed off by me- if you cannot print this off, Shining in the Secondary School Office has copies. The deadline for this is tomorrow, Friday 17th June.

Journey to the IB

You will by now have received letters about the Journey to the IB programme which is taking place next week. Mr Graham and the IB team have organised a high-quality, fun and challenging programme of activities that will provide the students with a head start for their IB studies, and I look forward to seeing them there. Please ensure that permission slips for trips have been returned in order to enable your child to participate fully in the activities on offer.
