During the summer we celebrated the outstanding results achieved by our IB students. With over 27% achieving 40 points or more and an average pass rate of 36, this truly is an exceptional achievement in a non-selective school where all students have the chance to shine. Yesterday the success continued, as we had the unique privilege of watching our current Year 12 students open their IGCSE and GCSE results in front of us. Usually this is reserved for the holidays but as we returned early we were able to celebrate together, supported by a few cupcakes of course!
A staggering 58% of all exam entries achieved A*to A grades in a year when the UK results fell to an all-time low.
Of course our school provides so much more than academic success. Team spirit and collaboration were the words of the day as the secondary school engaged in their very first house activity. No doubt your children will have already shared the highlights of the day, but please read more from Mr. Northedge, the mastermind behind the day.
In the primary school, our students have quickly engaged in their learning; already the first Stars of the Week have celebrated their success in returning quickly to school routines and ensuring new pupils feel at home in our school. I never fail to smile when I see our young students as a buddy walking around supporting our new students in their first few days.
It is not only students who welcome support in the beginning but our parent community also. Throughout the week our Community Group has welcomed new and returning faces in a series of coffee mornings, with many events planned for the year; some firm favourites returning as well as new events to take part in, there are many great opportunities to get involved.
A fantastic start for what bodes well for the year ahead.
