Message from the Director of Music - 14 September 2016

The Arts department is alive with pupils singing, performing and making the set as we start our long journey to the opening night of Into the Woods. Auditions are still ongoing and this week we have heard from Years 7 and 8 and again the standard has been fantastic. Some truly memorable performances from the most unexpected pupils! We really admire their bravery and the amount of hard work they have put in to be prepared for these auditions. Next week will be the last week of auditions, with Year 5 and 6 taking the spotlight. After that, we start the callbacks for the pupils who have been selected for different roles. Our aim is the same as last year, to have two pupils per role, wherever we can, giving everyone the best opportunity to realise their ambitions.

In other news, it was fantastic to see so many parents at the community choir rehearsal on Monday. We are now well over the 20 mark and I hope to push towards hitting the 30 during the term. Remember this is open to family and friends not just parents of pupils at the school. We have quite a few local residents involved at the moment too. So, if you fancy getting involved then just come along on Monday at 5pm-6pm in the Performing Arts Centre.
