Message from Secondary - 9th September 2016

It has been another exciting and productive week in the Secondary School. This week our Student Leadership team have been busily reading the applications for Student Council and we are eagerly anticipating the new team announcement in Friday’s assembly. The Student Council is just one way that our students can contribute to the school community and plenty more opportunities will be available during the year.

We look forward to welcoming you at our Meet and Greet event taking place on Tuesday 13th September from 5-8pm. Meet and Greet is an opportunity for you to come into school to meet with your child’s teacher’s and learns about our curriculum and other key information that is relevant to your child’s year group. The event will include presentations about the upcoming Project Week, year group presentations and the opportunity to speak to teachers and other parents with drinks and nibbles in the C Block Foyer.

Project Week is an important part of the service learning here at NAIS Pudong and provides an exciting opportunity for our students to make a difference. The trips that our students will go on comprise a minimum of 50% service plus other adventure activities that will challenge their risk-taking, collaborative and leadership skills. The Year 10 trip will also encompass the International Award’s Adventurous Journey to ensure that the students meet the requirements of this programme.

We have also received exciting news that Anu Ojha OBE from the UK’s National Space Academy will be visiting us again in September to work with our students in Years 10 to 13. We are delighted that our students have access to this inspiring opportunity. More details will follow next week.

The annual Family Picnic is being held this Sunday from 12-4pm on the school field. We very much look forward to seeing you there.

With best wishes,

Carol Camargo and Therese Andrews

Deputy Heads of Secondary
