Message from Secondary - 20 January

Xīnnián kuàilè!

Today our official Chinese New Year celebrations began with another amazing assembly led by students from Secondary. The celebrations continue with the annual Temple Fair on Sunday from 11-3pm and we hope to see you there. Next week there will be a range of activities going on for the Secondary students including Kung Fu sessions for our Year 7-9 students and a dress up day on Thursday. As a reminder, to support families who are travelling for the New Year, there will be no CCAs on Thursday afternoon.

Mrs Watson is busy preparing for another Careers Fair on Wednesday 15th March, working with universities and local organisations which we are looking forward to. We have also been informed that one of Europe’s leading business schools, Bocconi University is holding an information session at the Swissotel Grand Shanghai on Friday 3rd February at 6pm which you are very welcome to attend.

This week has seen a very successful House event with the Seven Minute Challenge where students had to complete exercises for seven minutes in their House teams to win House points. Congratulations to all students who took part!

Additionally it has been lovely to see many of you at our Academic Review Evenings for Years 7-9. We hope that you have many useful conversations to inform you about your child’s learning and progress. We look forward to seeing the parents of Years 10 and 12 on Tuesday next week.

Also this week, to support the Year 9 students with their Options Choices, Mr Gichana and Ms Brunskill ran taster lessons for Business Studies and Economics. To read more about this please click here.

Finally, we are getting very excited for the upcoming production of Into the Woods, taking place at the end of March. Tickets go on sale from Sunday at the Temple Fair!

Best wishes,

Therese Andrews and Carol Camargo
