Information and Reminders
Please could parents check Class Dojo for information about what the children are learning and for important messages. There was information and guidance shared last week about Shakespeare week and costumes. Year 1A – Javis Lai for being able to retell a story in great detail

Year 1C – Aaron Gu for settling into his new class so well and making lots of new friends.
In English, we will be looking at the past and present tense. The children will discuss how verbs change depending on their relationship to time. They will be encouraged to recognise the past and present tense.
Key Focus: past tense, present tense, adjectives, verbs, conjunctions, punctuation marks
In Mathematics, the children will explore money. The key objectives will be to recognise and know the value of different denominations and notes. They will practice giving and receiving money through role play activities.
Key vocabulary: money, denominations, value, coins, notes and amount
Next week, the learning goal we will be exploring will be ‘Communication.’ The Beatles song that will be used as our stimulus will be ‘Dear Mr. Postman.’
The focus artist will be ‘Lichtenstein.’ The children will try to recreate his style of pop art by creating their own self-portraits.
