School photos – next week we will be having individual and class photos during the school day. Please can all children be dressed in the correct winter uniform for their photographs. For consistency, girls should wear either black tights or black socks for their photograph.

Book Fair – we will have external vendors in school from Wednesday 22nd to Friday 24th March selling a range of books. Students will have an opportunity to make a wish list of books they like, which they can bring home to show you, before purchasing any.

Activities will include:

  • Creating their own potions to turn their teachers into donkeys!
  • Writing instructions
  • Hot seating characters
  • Retelling the story
  • Writing character descriptions

Please check class Dojo to see what we have been doing!

Mathematics

In Mathematics, the children will continue their exploration of money. They will solve simple problems involving money and will record their work and explain their working out. The children will begin to use everyday language related to money.

Key vocabulary: money, denominations, value, coins, notes and amount

Topic

Next week, the learning goal we will be exploring will be ‘World citizens.’ The Beatles song that will be used as our stimulus will be ‘All you need is love,’ this is linked to our Shakespeare play ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream.’

We will continue to look at the work of ‘Lichtenstein.’ The children will continue to work on their own self-portraits. They will use different materials to create their self-portraits and develop different techniques using colour, pattern and shape.
