Information and Reminders

Drop off – We would greatly appreciate your support with dropping your child off to school between 8.30-8.45am at the latest; this way we can start our morning circle by 9am.

It is still very cold and sometimes rainy in Shanghai at the moment.  Please make sure your child comes to school every day wearing the correct Early Years winter uniform, and with appropriate layers to equip them for the playground. If they come to school wearing rubber boots, please make sure they have their normal black or grey school shoes to change in to when they arrive at school.

Overview of next week’s learning

As part of our topic the children will continue to think of ways to defeat the Evil Peas from our story Supertato. They will be asked to design different traps by drawing their ideas on paper and then building their trap using junk model materials.

In our maths activities the children will be asked to predict which vegetable is heaviest before comparing the weights and size of different vegetables using balance scales and then drawing their findings.

In our phonics sessions the children will be introduced to Metal Mike, the word eating robot. The children will feed Metal Mike different picture cards as they speak in a robot voice, by breaking down the individual sounds in words, for example, c-a-t, d-o-g, or p-i-n.
