United Nations' Global Goals

Today is the day we submit our Global Challenge entry to Nord Anglia Education! In January, we were set the challenge of addressing two of the UN’s Global Goals:  Zero Hunger and Good Health & Well-being

  • Unicef

Our students across the school have been addressing this in various ways over the last few months. The entire Primary School did the World’s Largest Lesson and learned all about all of the United Nations Global Goals for Sustainable Development. This kick-started some further work on how to goals could be addressed. We heard about what the Early Years students got up to, but the rest of the school has been involved too!

The Lower Juniors are going to be planting their own plants such as vegetables in troughs to create sustainable food sources. The Upper Juniors have been fundraising for children’s health charity, like ‘Heart to Heart Shanghai’ and will also hold a ‘Busking day’ fundraiser at the Summer Fun Day event.

In the Secondary School, students in Years 7-9 worked on STEAM solutions to the Global Goals and collaborated in groups to design ways to solve the two goals we are focused on. The two winning designs were the city garden made from recycled materials and the greenhouse made from plastic bottles. We look forward to seeing these two ideas being developed over the remainder of the term!
